India Targets JeM and LeT in Airstrikes; Drones Downed in Lahore
India carried out strikes on terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba in Pakistan following a Kashmir massacre. A day later, two unidentified drones were shot down over Lahore, intensifying regional tension.
India Hits Terror Camps in Pakistan, Drones Fall in Lahore
Something very serious is happening between India and Pakistan.
A few days ago, some tourists were killed in Kashmir, a part of India. India says two dangerous groups from Pakistan did it. So, India sent its fighter planes to attack the places where those groups were hiding in Pakistan.
Who Did India Attack?
India attacked two terrorist groups:
-
Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)
-
Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT)
These groups have done many bad things before. They want to take Kashmir away from India and make it part of Pakistan. Countries like America and the United Nations also call them terrorist groups.
-
JeM was started by a man named Masood Azhar. He got help from other bad people like Osama bin Laden.
-
LeT is led by Hafiz Saeed. His group was behind the Mumbai attacks in 2008 where many people died.
What Happened in Lahore?
The day after India’s attack, two flying machines called drones were seen in the sky over Lahore, a big city in Pakistan.
Police said the drones were shot down because they were too close to important places. The machines stopped working because of a signal jammer (a machine that blocks drone signals), and they fell down.
Nobody knows who sent the drones yet. Experts are checking them to find out.
What Is Going On at the Airport?
Because of all this, the Lahore Airport has been closed for a few hours. Planes can’t take off or land there right now.
What Will Happen Next?
Right now, India and Pakistan are both being very careful. Other countries like the USA are asking them to stay calm and not fight. People are watching closely to see what happens next.
