In a significant incident, an Indian Air Force MiG fighter jet crashed near the Uttarlai Airbase in Barmer, Rajasthan, on Monday evening. The aircraft reportedly went down in the Bandra area near the airbase, but fortunately, the pilot managed to eject safely before the crash occurred.

 

The incident occurred late in the evening, and there have been no reports of casualties or injuries as a result of the crash. Following the incident, the fighter jet caught fire, and the flames could be seen from a considerable distance.

 

Upon receiving news of the crash, the Barmer District Collector and Superintendent of Police immediately rushed to the scene to assess the situation. The Indian Air Force has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash to determine what led to the accident.

This crash adds to the list of unfortunate incidents involving MiG aircraft, which have faced criticism in the past for their aging technology and safety concerns. However, the timely ejection by the pilot ensured that this incident did not result in any loss of life.

The Indian Air Force's inquiry will aim to uncover the technical or operational issues that may have contributed to the crash, and necessary measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
