IndiGo Reacts to Being Included in the List of Worst Airlines in AirHelp Score Report 2024
IndiGo, India's largest low-cost carrier, has responded to the AirHelp Score report 2024 that ranked the airline among the worst in the world. The carrier was ranked 103rd out of 109 airlines covered in the report that measured customer satisfaction across the globe in terms of factors such as punctuality, food quality, seating comfort, and overall service.
The AirHelp Score report 2024 also ranked Air India 61 and AirAsia at 94. However, IndiGo said it challenges all the claims and that the report was flawed. IndiGo noted that it has continuously scored high in terms of punctuality and has the lowest complaint ratio among similar-sized airlines and operations.
IndiGo stated that the data in the report from AirHelp is not transparent about the sample size of India and does not represent the compensation guidelines of the industry, thus raising the credibility of the survey. The airline added that the DGCA, which regulates the aviation of India, has been regularly uploading official data into the airline punctuality and customer complaints report, where IndiGo has kept an impeccable on-time performance record.
IndiGo, which operates more than 2,100 daily flights connecting over 85 domestic destinations and 30 international routes, also claimed to lead the Indian aviation market with a 61.3% market share. The carrier is particularly proud of its customer service that includes affordable fares, courteous staff, and hassle-free traveling.
While IndiGo contests the AirHelp Score report, the airline continues to do its best in serving more than millions of passengers on its route. The actual report ranked airlines based on a range of factors from customer claims, global on-time performance, food, and seating quality, along with traveler feedback from more than 54 countries.
