IRCTC Unveils New ‘SwaRail’ App for Train Ticket Booking — Now Available for Android and iOS
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a new mobile application called SwaRail, which is intended to make and improve the journey through the train for Indian passengers. Already available in early access on both Android and iOS platforms, the app seeks to consolidate all major Indian Railways services in one convenient interface.
Created by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), SwaRail has it all, from train reservations to live tracking, ordering food, and complaint assistance — all within a few clicks.
How to Book Railway Tickets on the IRCTC SwaRail App:
- Download and Log In: Download the SwaRail app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Use your current IRCTC account or sign up for a new one.
- Journey Planner: On the home page, click 'Journey Planner' → select 'Reserved'.
- Enter Trip Details: Enter your source and destination, travel date, class, and ticket quota.
- Choose Train & Class: View available trains, select one, and choose the coach class.
- Boarding & Passenger Info: Select boarding station, passenger details, contact information.
- Review & Pay: Verify journey details, resolve the captcha, and click 'Book Now' to make the payment through UPI, Cards, Net-Banking, or IRCTC R-Wallet.
