Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram applauded Isha Foundation for transforming the lives of tribal women from Thanikandi village into successful entrepreneurs and taxpayers. The women, who began with just ₹200 in 2018, now run crore-worth enterprises thanks to Isha's consistent support. The Minister commended Isha’s holistic rural initiatives spanning education, health, culture, and spirituality.

Coimbatore, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram praised the Isha Foundation’s grassroots initiatives after witnessing how tribal women from Thanikandi village, once dependent on daily wages, have now become income taxpayers and successful entrepreneurs.

Speaking during his visit to the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, the Minister said, “With Isha’s support, these tribal women have become lakhpatis and taxpayers. Such inspiring models will help build a Viksit Bharat and fulfill the vision of Prime Minister Modi and Sadhguru.”

The Minister referred to the women of the Chellamariyammann Self-Help Group, who started with only ₹200 in 2018 by setting up small shops near the Adiyogi statue. Today, their enterprises are thriving, with turnovers in crores and growing national recognition.

In addition to economic transformation, Isha Foundation has extended its support to local communities by improving healthcare, education, waste management, nutrition, and skill development in tribal and rural villages.

Minister Oram personally visited one such village and interacted with the residents. He commended Isha’s work in “preserving culture, boosting spirituality, and providing holistic development support.”

During the visit, he also explored Isha’s iconic spiritual and educational landmarks, including the Adiyogi statue, Dhyanalinga, Suryakund, and Linga Bhairavi Devi, as well as institutions like Sadhguru Gurukulam Samskriti and Isha Home School.
