Bengaluru/Coimbatore – On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Isha Foundation conducted more than 2,500 free yoga sessions across India, benefiting over 10,000 defence personnel from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, BSF, and NCC.

The sessions were led by 11,000+ trained Yoga Veeras at various locations, including military establishments, colleges, schools, offices, and even prisons. This nationwide movement saw participation not just from the armed forces but also from civilians, students, and corporate professionals.

The largest gathering took place at Sadhguru Sannidhi, Bengaluru, where over 5,000 defence personnel and 1,000 civilians joined the yoga session. Other key locations included:

  • Sriganganagar, Rajasthan – 1,500 defence personnel

  • Jodhpur Airbase – 900 Air Force officers

  • Pune Cantonment – 500 Army personnel

  • Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur – 400 participants

  • Adiyogi, Coimbatore – 200+ personnel from Indian Air Force, Indian Army, and Rapid Action Force

In addition, sessions were also held at IIT Chennai and leading corporates like HDFC Bank, IBM, L&T, and Yes Bank. As part of the initiative, over 2,000 youth ambassadors promoted the “Miracle of Mind”, a 7-minute meditation tool designed by Sadhguru, aimed at boosting mental health.

Sharing his message on X (formerly Twitter), Sadhguru emphasized, “Yoga gives you the freedom to live by conscious choice, not compulsive thought and action.”


This initiative highlights Isha Foundation's ongoing commitment to bringing holistic well-being through yoga, especially among India's armed forces. Over the years, more than 11,000 soldiers have been trained in classical Hatha Yoga, with 500+ personnel now certified to teach yoga within their units.
