Jaipur: BJP MLA's Bizarre Move, 'Purifies' Congress Councilors with Ganga Jal and Makes Them Drink Cow Urine!
In a unique turn of events, Kusum Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took over the position of Mayor in Jaipur's Heritage Municipal Corporation by reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and performing Vedic rituals. On this occasion, BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya sprinkled Ganga water (Ganga Jal) throughout the mayoral office for purification. Acharya also used Ganga water and cow urine (Gomutra) to “purify” Congress councilors and officials who had recently pledged their support to the BJP.
Purification with Ganga Water and Cow Urine
Balmukund Acharya explained that Kusum Yadav assumed the role of Mayor on the auspicious occasion of Navami (ninth day of the lunar month) with Hanuman Chalisa recitations and Vedic chants. He stated that the office, which had been impure, was now cleansed with Ganga water to ensure a corruption-free and sacred atmosphere in the municipal corporation.
Acharya further claimed that Congress councilors were made to drink Ganga water and cow urine, while Vedic chants were recited in their ears to make them fully aligned with the Sanatan (Hindu) way of life. The officials were also "purified," as they had been working in an "impure environment."
Promises of Anti-Corruption Measures
Acharya asserted that the officials are now free from corruption, and strict action would be taken against those involved in corrupt activities. He added that in Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), Ganga water and cow urine are used to bring purity, and these measures were adopted to rid the municipal corporation of corruption.
Congress Responds Strongly
Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas reacted sharply to the incident, criticizing the BJP’s actions. He remarked that while Ganga water is indeed needed across India, the BJP should first focus on purifying itself. Khachariyawas added that BJP leaders should drink Ganga water and cow urine themselves before attempting to purify others.
The incident has sparked a political debate, with Congress strongly opposing the BJP’s use of religious rituals in the political sphere.
