Jaipur: Gas Leak at Vishwakarma Plant Causes White Smoke Blanket, No Casualties Reported

A major disaster was averted in Jaipur on Tuesday when a carbon dioxide (CO2) leak occurred at a gas filling plant in the Vishwakarma area on Road Number 18. The leak caused dense white smoke to blanket the area, creating panic among residents. Local authorities were alerted immediately, and a police team along with the fire brigade reached the site.

The leak was caused by a broken valve in a tanker carrying around 20 tons of CO2. The fire brigade managed to close the main valve, thereby stopping the leak and bringing the situation under control. Visibility in the area was severely reduced due to the white smoke, prompting authorities to gradually clear the road for vehicles.

No casualties were reported, and the quick response of police and fire brigade ensured the safety of the residents. However, this incident spells growing concern over recurring gas-related accidents in Rajasthan, as recent months have seen similar mishaps occur, with one deadly gas tanker on fire from near Ajmer highway claiming 20 lives.
