India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday briefed the Lok Sabha on the situation in Ukraine. The minister strongly condemned the Bucha killings in Ukraine.
The minister was informing the Lower House on the ongoing conflict situation in Russia and Ukraine.
While answering the questions on Operation Ganga he said, “no one has ever evacuated its citizens at such a large scale as India did.”
India’s evacuation mission for the stranded Indian citizens in Ukraine was the most challenging evacuation carried out by India, he said.
“Had the four Union ministers not gone to countries neighbouring Ukraine, India would not have got the same level of cooperation,” he added.
EAM Jaishankar also stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was personally invested in the evacuation.

Jaishankar reiterated how India “strongly condemns” the killings in Bucha of Ukraine.
“It’s an extremely serious matter and we support the call for an independent investigation,” he said and added that India has chosen the “side of peace”.
Among other points, he also pointed out how India always chose the side of peace.
The Minister says that India “continues to push for dialogue” and an end to violence. “If India can be of any assistance in this matter, we will be glad to contribute,” he added further.
Furthermore, Ukraine has accused Russia of war crimes. While Moscow has consistently denied these allegations calling them mere conspiracies against it and a provocation by Kyiv.
