His distraught mother sat with his severed head in her lap, holding vigil in silence for hours as onlookers gathered, deeply moved by the somber moment. Witnesses said the men who attacked him chased him down as part of the continuing clash. One wielded a sword and delivered the fatal blow, decapitating the boy. The main attacker, while the other two have already been caught, remains at large, and police are working collaboratively to hunt him down.
Multiple police teams were pressed into service rapidly to curb the situation and prevent it from taking violent turns again. The problem was nearly half a century old due to a dispute over a small plot of land among parties headed by Ramesh and Laalta on one side, said Ajay Pal Sharma, SP, adding that he himself along with the District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra had gone to the scene, managing both an investigation and security measure to tackle any further mishap in that region.

Offering his sympathies, the district magistrate promised the victim's family that those who perpetrated the crime would be punished with "the harshest punishment possible." The land conflict is being considered in the civil court presently and the authorities requested that a report be prepared in three days to support their investigation. Authorities are willing to offer speedy justice for Anurag's tearful family, not just for the tragedy but for the dispute that has persisted for ages.
