Jhansi Tragedy: Teen Ends Life After Being Stopped from Playing PUBG
A heart-wrenching incident from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, is that of a 14-year-old boy who ended his life after being scolded by his mother for playing PUBG. The boy, Sarvan, was a 10th-grade student and reportedly addicted to gaming, which led to the tragic outcome.
On Saturday afternoon, when Sarvan was playing PUBG on his mobile, the mother asked him to shut it down. She threatened to take away his mobile, which made Sarvan storm out of the house in anger. Hours passed, and his mother later found him hanging from the tree in the fields surrounding their house.
His father Gokul and family stayed in a village, but on farmland where they constructed their own house. The jarring news had left his mother absolutely tearless and the entire village was in mourning. Relatives and neighbors tried to talk him out of it but it was too late for Sarvan.
Police, led by Station Officer Nilesh Kumari, arrived at the scene after being informed. The body was taken down and sent for postmortem. Kumari said that the boy's gaming addiction led to this tragic step. The case highlights the growing concern of gaming addiction among teenagers, which can lead to extreme actions under emotional distress.
The sad incident grieves the entire village and serves as a wake-up call to parents and authorities on the ills of extreme gaming by children.
