Jammu and Kashmir’s Aroosa Parvaiz who topped class 12 exam of J&K Board is being trolled on social media for not wearing hijab in her pictures.
A photo of Aroosa without a hijab got shared on social media following her achievement; the results were declared on February 8. She has topped the board exam with a score of 499 out of 500. The girl was interviewed where she was seen without a hijab. However, those posts on social media also received comments condemning her.
Some screenshots were also shared by local media platforms in which Aroosa received threatening comments like beheading her for not covering her head.
Reacting to the trolling, Aroosa said that this trolling has affected her family. “Wearing or not wearing Hijab doesn’t define one’s belief in their religion. Maybe, I love Allah more than they (trolls) do. I’m a Muslim by heart, not by a hijab.”
The country is already going through an intense debate over Hijab row, especially in the state of Karnataka.
Several students have been seeking their right to wear hijab (headscarf) inside the classrooms. And now Karnataka BJP leader CT Ravi said Aroosa Parvaiz is the face of courage.
A lot of people from celebs to politicians have jumped into this hijab debate. The Karnataka high court, in its interim order, has asked students to not wear any religious clothing until court’s next hearing.
Educational institutes have been shut till the time the final verdict comes in order to avoid unrest and chaos in the state.
