Jr NTR Donates ₹1 Crore to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Flood Relief Efforts
Heavy rainfall caused by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has devastated Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, resulting in significant property damage and loss of life. In response to the crisis, actor Jr NTR has stepped forward with a substantial donation to aid relief efforts in both states.
Jr NTR announced a generous contribution of ₹50 lakh each to the Chief Minister's Relief Funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, totaling ₹1 crore. The actor, who has been traveling in Karnataka for the past three days, made this announcement via Twitter, expressing his deep concern for the affected residents.
The relentless downpour has caused flooding and landslides, with reports indicating that at least eight lives have been lost so far. Residents in low-lying areas have been evacuated to safer locations as authorities work to manage the crisis. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is closely monitoring the situation and has directed the release of ₹3 crore for relief efforts in each affected district.
In his statement, Jr NTR expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the people of the two Telugu states. "I am deeply distressed by the floods caused by the recent heavy rains in the two Telugu states. I pray for the swift recovery of the people affected. In support of the flood relief measures undertaken by the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, I am donating ₹50 lakh each to the relief funds of both states," Jr NTR said.
During his recent Karnataka trip, Jr NTR visited several religious sites, including Udupi, Kundapura, and Kollur, accompanied by his family and notable figures such as actor Rishab Shetty and director Prashanth Neel.
