Justice NV Ramana will replace SA Bobde as the next CJI on April 24

Justice NV Ramana will be the next Chief Justice Of India (CJI). After President of India Ramnath Kovind appointed him. A notification for the same has come from the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice Tuesday.

The warrant of appointment and a copy of the notification of appointment have been handed over to Justice N. V. Ramana. Besides, he will take over as the next Chief Justice of India (CJI) on April 24.

He comes from the agricultural background of Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. Mr Ramana is passionate about Carnatic music.

Moreover, CJI SA Bobde had recommended Justice NV Ramana as his successor. Also, CJI Bobde will retire on April 23, 2021.
