Hassan — Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the first phase of the highly anticipated Ettinhole project on Friday. The event took place near Doddanagara in the Sakleshpur taluk, where Siddaramaiah officially launched the project at the 9th Pump House by cutting a ribbon and activating the motor via computer.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other cabinet colleagues, Siddaramaiah performed a ceremonial puja before the inauguration. The launch marks the beginning of water flow from the Western Ghats into the Ettinhole canal, with mountain water set to flow towards the Bayalu region.

The commencement of the project has heightened expectations among residents in the Bayalu region, who anticipate significant benefits from the influx of water.
