Several BJP and JD(S) leaders, who participated in a padayatra against the CM, have now testified that the site allocation to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, followed due process. Additionally, key questions remain unanswered, including the alleged influence of Yathindra Siddaramaiah and inconsistencies in Siddaramaiah’s timeline of events.

Karnataka MUDA Scam: BJP Leaders Contradict Themselves in Lokayukta Probe

Karnataka MUDA Scam: The Lokayukta report has exposed contradictions in the testimonies of Karnataka BJP leaders, who had earlier led a padayatra against CM Siddaramaiah over the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. Their statements to the Lokayukta investigation panel now contradict their previous allegations, effectively supporting the Chief Minister.

Investigation Findings: No Political Pressure in MUDA Site Allocation

The Lokayukta recorded testimonies from over 10 MLAs and MLCs, including BJP and JD(S) leaders.
Many confirmed that the site allocation to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, was done through standard procedures.
BJP leader B Harshavardhan admitted that the MUDA chairman mentioned Parvathi as Siddaramaiah’s wife, but clarified that Siddaramaiah did not exert any political pressure.
MP G Kumar Nayak, a former Mysuru District Commissioner, stated he signed land conversion documents for a 3.16-acre plot in Kesare village but was unaware of any links to the CM.

Unanswered Questions in MUDA Case

The investigation has raised concerns over missing testimonies and inconsistencies:

Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of CM Siddaramaiah, has been accused of influencing the land allocation process, yet his statement was not recorded.
Siddaramaiah had claimed he only learned about the land donation in 2013, but records indicate that Parvathi’s brother donated the land in 2010.
Parvathi stated that she first visited the land in 2013 when it was undeveloped, but MUDA records show that plots were built and sold there in 2004.

Conclusion

The MUDA scam controversy continues to unfold as contradictions emerge in political statements, land records, and investigation findings. With BJP leaders' testimonies now favoring Siddaramaiah, the credibility of earlier allegations and the scope of the Lokayukta probe remain under scrutiny.
