Karnataka: Tourist Bus Overturns Near Jog Falls, 15 Injured in Sagar Taluk Accident
A tourist bus carrying 55 passengers from Mangaluru to Jog Falls met with an accident when it overturned on a sharp curve near Kargal along Aralagodu Road in Sagar Taluk, Shivamogga district, Karnataka. The accident happened on Saturday, leaving over 15 people injured. No one has been reported dead.
The bus skidded and turned over while taking the steep turn. In a short time, locals and rescue teams reached the site, helped in rescuing the injured, and sent them to Kargal and Sagar hospitals. The passengers were headed to Jog Falls, which is one of the prominent tourist destinations in Karnataka.
Police have initiated an investigation into the accident, which is likely to be due to driver negligence or road condition.

The bus accident is the latest in a series of tragedies in southern India. Just a few days ago, four school students died when a cement-loaded lorry ran them over in Kalladikkode in Kerala's Palakkad district. A student was also critically injured.
In another incident in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district, four Class 9 students from Morarji Desai Residential School drowned at Murudeshwar Beach during an educational tour. The students ignored the warnings of lifeguards and ventured into rough waters, resulting in the tragic loss of life. Lifeguards rescued three other students, who are recovering in the hospital.
