Kashmir DGP Hemant Kumar Lohia murder: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Indian offshoot Tuesday claimed responsibility for murdering the Jammu and Kashmir DGP (Prisons Department) Hemant Kumar Lohia.
Lohia was found dead at his home on the outskirts of Jammu on Monday. As per the Police, the officer’s throat was also slit and there were burn injuries on his body.
Moreover, the Police identified Yasir, Kashmir DGP Lohia’s domestic help as suspected, the main culprit. A manhunt is on for the suspect.
Terror outfit PAFF, an offshoot of LeT in India said, “Our special squad carried out an intelligence-based operation in Udaiwala, Jammu, eliminating DG of police, prisons department HK Lohia, a high-value target.”
Not only this, the terror group warned, it can “strike anytime and anywhere with precision”.
Kashmir DGP Lohia found dead
“This is a small gift to their visiting Home Minister amid such a security grid,” the PAFF said. Notably, Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir DGP Hemant Kumar Lohia was a 1992 batch IPS officer. He was found dead at his residence in Jammu. He was posted to the DGP prisons in August.
Furthermore, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh said Lohia’s domestic help Yasir is absconding. Yasir belongs to Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
