Kaushambi: Gang Rape of Student by Bike-Borne Assailants in Kaushambi, Case Registered

In a horrifying incident in Kaushambi district, a college student was abducted and gang-raped by two men on a motorcycle while she was returning from her degree college. The attackers took her to a secluded area, where they sexually assaulted her before binding her hands and feet and assaulting her. After rendering her unconscious, the perpetrators fled the scene. The local residents, upon discovering the victim in this condition, were shocked and immediately contacted the police.

The victim's brother lodged a complaint at the Sarai Akil police station, explaining that his sister was traveling home in an e-rickshaw when the driver dropped her off near the Bairagi Pur Chauraha. Shortly thereafter, two men on a motorcycle forcibly took her to a remote location and assaulted her. They then tied her up, beat her, and abandoned her in a drain before fleeing. One of the attackers was identified as a man named Kuldeep, while the other remains unidentified. The victim lost consciousness and was found by villagers the next morning. They untied her and informed both the police and her family.

Following the complaint, the police have registered a case and taken the accused into custody for questioning.

SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava reported that a case was registered under relevant sections based on the victim's statement. An investigation revealed that in 2018, the victim and the accused had entered into a marriage agreement and had lived as husband and wife. However, disputes between them led the victim to file a dowry harassment case against the accused in 2022 at Puramufti police station. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of the case, and strict legal action will be taken based on the findings.
