24-Year-Old Woman: In a shocking case from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Greeshma, a 24-year-old woman, has been sentenced to death for the murder of her boyfriend, Sharon Raj. The court called it a "rarest of the rare" case. The incident occurred in 2022 when Greeshma poisoned Sharon, who had been her boyfriend for over a year.

Greeshma had been in a relationship with Sharon since 2021, while she was pursuing her post-graduate degree and he was in his final year of college. However, in 2022, Greeshma’s family arranged her marriage to an army officer, which led to a growing tension between her relationship with Sharon and her impending wedding. As the marriage date approached, Greeshma plotted to kill Sharon to move on with her new life.

Multiple Attempts to Poison Sharon

Greeshma tried to poison Sharon multiple times before successfully carrying out her plan. She had researched pain-relief medications online and attempted to poison him by mixing paracetamol with juice, but Sharon refused to drink it. After this failed attempt, Greeshma mixed poison in an Ayurvedic medicine, which she gave to Sharon. On October 14, 2022, she invited Sharon over to her house, where she added a toxic pesticide to his drink. Sharon initially thought it was harmless but soon fell ill and was hospitalized.

Sharon’s Last Words and Investigation

Sharon's condition worsened, and he passed away on October 25, 2022. Before his death, Sharon reportedly told a friend that Greeshma had poisoned him and betrayed his trust. Based on Sharon's statements and the family's suspicions, police launched an investigation, which led to Greeshma’s arrest. Further investigation revealed that Greeshma had asked Sharon to delete their private pictures and videos, fearing they might be shared with her future husband.

Court’s Verdict and Other Accused

The court found Greeshma guilty of murder, poisoning, and destroying evidence. Her mother, Sindhu, was acquitted due to lack of evidence, while her uncle, Nirmalakumaran Nair, was found guilty of aiding and abetting the crime. The case included severe charges such as murder, kidnapping, and giving false evidence to protect the criminal.
