Kumbh Mela should now only be symbolic in wake of COVID-19, says PM Modi

In the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in Haridwar and pan India, PM Modi urged that Kumbh Mela should now only be symbolic.

Numerous Kumbh attendees have tested positive for the COVID-19. PM Modi asserted that this will give a boost to India’s fight against the pandemic.

Prime Minister’s appeal comes after many devotees testing positive for Covid-19 at Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.

After PM’s appeal, Swami Avdheshanand also urged people to not come to Kumbh for bathing in large numbers and follow the covid-19 rules.

Meanwhile, a Hindu seer has died from coronavirus. Also, 80 others have tested positive for the deadly virus after attending Kumbh.
