Families of Lakhimpur Kheri violence victims have challenged the bail of accused Ashish Mishra. He is the son of union minister Ajay Mishra Teni.
This comes days after the accused Ashish Mishra walked out of the jail following his bail.
Kin of victims are seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Ashish Mishra by the Allahabad high court. The case pertains to October 3 violence in which eight people, including four protesting farmers, were allegedly mowed down by an SUV. The SUV car allegedly belongs to the minister’s son.
The online portal Bar and Bench mentions that the plea was filed through advocate Prashant Bhushan. It mentions that the family members are approaching the court as the Uttar Pradesh government has failed to appeal against the court’s order regarding the bail.
