Is Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Eyeing a Political Career? A Maharashtra Party Extends an Offer

In a surprising twist, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently jailed in Gujarat’s Sabarmati prison, has been offered a chance to contest the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The offer comes from the Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Sena Party, whose president, Sunil Shukla, made headlines by comparing Bishnoi to legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Shukla even penned a letter praising Bishnoi’s “revolutionary spirit.”

Lawrence Bishnoi for Assembly Elections?

Sunil Shukla, in his letter, expressed admiration for Lawrence Bishnoi, referring to him as a revolutionary figure. He went on to say that Bishnoi’s entry into politics could bring significant changes. Shukla also assured that his party would spare no effort in ensuring Bishnoi's victory. "We propose that you contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The workers and officials of the Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Sena are ready to support your campaign. Party Pledges Full Support to Bishnoi

In his letter, Shukla highlighted the pride the party feels in Bishnoi being a North Indian born in Punjab, emphasizing that his values align with the party's. The party is determined to ensure his victory. This surprising political offer comes in the wake of the recent assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, an act claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Bishnoi’s gang is also infamously known for issuing death threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan.

Bishnoi's Criminal Background and Rising Influence

Lawrence Bishnoi, 31, first gained national attention after being linked to the May 29, 2022 murder of Punjabi singer-rapper Sidhu Moosewala, who was also a Congress member. Despite being imprisoned since 2015, Bishnoi’s influence in the criminal underworld continues to grow. Now, with a political party openly courting him, his future in politics could become a reality if he accepts the offer.
