Mahakumbh 2025: On the occasion of Magh Purnima, more than 1 crore devotees took a sacred dip at the Sangam during the fourth major bathing event of Mahakumbh 2025. The UP government implemented a new traffic plan to avoid any congestion, declaring the entire city a No-Vehicle Zone and canceling VVIP passes.

Lessons Learned from Mouni Amavasya Incident

The Mouni Amavasya bath earlier this month witnessed a stampede-like situation due to overcrowding. Taking strict measures, UP DGP Prashant Kumar said:

New crowd management strategies have been implemented.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Monitoring and Review

Ahead of Magh Purnima Snan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally:

Reviewed security and crowd management arrangements.
Held meetings with police and civic officials.
Monitored the event remotely from his Lucknow office.
Additionally, devotees at the Sangam were welcomed with a grand flower shower, making the experience more spiritually enriching.

Tributes to Ram Temple’s Chief Priest

CM Yogi Adityanath also expressed his condolences on the passing of Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. He called his demise an “irreparable loss to the spiritual world”.
