Mahakumbh Mela 2025: IRCTC to Launch Luxury 'Tent City' in Prayagraj for Visitors

The Mahakumbh Mela 2025 is set to begin on January 13, 2025, and will conclude on February 26, 2025, marking an extraordinary spiritual gathering in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. To enhance the experience for visitors, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will establish a premium tent city, known as Maha Kumbh Gram, offering luxurious accommodations in the heart of this holy festival.

Sanjay Kumar Jain, the Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, described this project as a revolutionary step in combining luxurious accommodation with the rich spiritual heritage of the Kumbh Mela. The initiative is designed to offer deluxe and premium camps, equipped with modern amenities to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay amidst the spiritual ambience of the Mahakumbh. With tariffs starting at Rs 6,000 per person per night (including breakfast), visitors will have the opportunity to experience the Mela in utmost comfort.

The Maha Kumbh Gram will be available for direct bookings as well as through IRCTC’s tour packages, including the Bharat Gaurav Trains. This makes it accessible to a wide range of visitors, including international tourists and pilgrims. The tent city will cater to the needs of those seeking both spiritual and luxury tourism during the Mela.

The Mahakumbh Mela is a once-in-a-lifetime event for millions of pilgrims and tourists, occurring every 12 years. The last Maha Kumbh took place in 2013, and the 2025 edition is expected to be grander than ever, drawing crowds from around the world to take a dip in the holy Sangam of the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers.
