Maharashtra Assembly Election Result: Sanjay Raut Rejects Trends Showing Mahayuti's Win, Says 'This Is Not What Maharashtra Wants'
In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, trends show the BJP-led Mahayuti securing a decisive victory, leaving the Maha Vikas Aghadi trailing. Despite Mahayuti’s clear lead, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut dismissed the results, stating, "This is not what Maharashtra wants." He criticized the ruling alliance’s policies and expressed doubts about the trends, emphasizing his party’s understanding of the public’s desires.
Maharashtra Assembly Election Result: Trends are pointing towards a sweeping victory for the Mahayuti alliance led by the BJP in the Maharashtra political landscape. The alliance has reportedly secure more than 200 seats, firmly going past the majority mark of 145 that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was eyeing.
Celebrations have already begun at the BJP Mumbai office, where sweets were being distributed for the apparent victory.
Raut Challenges Trends
However, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has termed it but said that they do not reflect the actual will of people in Maharashtra. "This cannot be the result of Maharashtra's citizens. We know what they want," Raut said. He even criticized the fact that the ruling alliance is winning and also said that public wants something else other than what the trends show.
Jibe at Mahayuti's Populist Schemes
Raut also replicated the Mahayuti's flagship "Mazi Ladki Behna" scheme while sarcastically saying, "Here, there are also Ladla Bhai and Ladle Dadaji." He hinted that the scheme's result in the election may not coincide with the actual wish of the people.
BJP's Revival and MVA's Downfall
As Mahayuti seems to get more dominant, the hopes of MVA seem to be dwindling fast. In Mumbai, the BJP office is filled with optimism as trends favor their comeback with a big margin. Meanwhile, MVA leaders are struggling with what this result means for their future in the state.
While Mahayuti was celebrating, Raut's and others' opposition towards it underlines the controversial nature of this election and broader political dynamics within Maharashtra.
