The Maharashtra Assembly elections are underway, with a voter turnout of 18.14% recorded by 11 AM. Voting began at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM across all 288 assembly seats in the state. The results will be announced on November 23, with a significant focus on voter participation. Mumbai city recorded a voter turnout of 15.78% as of 11 AM, slightly below the state average.

Among the districts, Gadchiroli has seen the highest voter turnout at an impressive 30%. In contrast, Nanded recorded the lowest turnout at 13.67%, according to the Election Commission of India. Other districts like Aurangabad (18.98%) and Kolhapur (20.59%) have also shown strong voter participation.

Maharashtra’s election is seeing active participation from key political figures. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, and Shiv Sena candidate Aaditya Thackeray from Worli have cast their votes. CM Shinde expressed confidence in his party’s victory, stating that the Mahayuti alliance will form the next government with a significant majority. He also highlighted the developmental schemes initiated during their tenure, including the Ladli Behna Yojana.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and other prominent leaders like BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule have also voted, urging the public to participate in large numbers. Bawankule even appealed for 100% voter turnout, emphasizing that the elected government will work for the state’s 14 crore residents.
