Maharashtra Elections: BJP’s Vinod Tawde Accused of Distributing ₹5 Crore in Palghar

Maharashtra Elections: Panic prevailed in Palghar on Sunday as the BJP General Secretary, Vinod Tawde, was accused of attempting to drop ₹5 crore. The incident occurred at Vivanta Hotel, where members of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) confronted Tawde and BJP candidate Rajan Naik on charges of bribery of voters.
BVA leaders, which include MLA Hitendra Thakur and candidate Kshitij Thakur, claimed they found diaries and a laptop that detail cash distribution plans. They demanded immediate action by the election officials who claim that BJP leaders are using money to manipulate the electoral process. He also threatened to stay at the hotel till police take some action.
Shiv Sena-UBT leader Sanjay Raut criticized the BJP, terming its tactics to be exposed. The hotel has been sealed with a suspicious bag confiscated by the authorities. Election results are likely to be declared on November 23, while tensions soar over these allegations.
