Given the situation, Union Health Minister JP Nadda chaired a high-level video conference with Maharashtra’s health officials to assess the outbreak and discuss containment measures.

GBS Cases Rise in Maharashtra, JP Nadda Reviews Situation

On Monday, February 5, JP Nadda led a virtual meeting with Maharashtra's Health Minister Prakash Abitkar, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, and other senior officials. The state government provided updates on public health measures and ongoing treatment protocols.

163 total GBS cases (as of February 3, 2025).
127 patients have recovered and been discharged.
31 patients are still under medical observation.
5 deaths have been reported so far.
