Maharashtra New CM: Shinde’s Oath Decision Still Unclear, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar Confirm Ceremony on December 5

Maharashtra New CM: Maharashtra's political situation is reaching a decisive juncture with the birth of a new government. All obstacles on the way to government formation have been cleared with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and NCP's Ajit Pawar filing claim letters to Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan. The Governor has agreed to the claim, and oath-taking will take place at 5:30 PM on December 5.

While the formal government formation is going on, one important question still remains: whether Shinde will take the oath on the same day. When asked, Shinde said, "You will know by evening." Ajit Pawar, however, was sure of it, saying, "I will take the oath. Shinde Ji will tell us by evening." Shinde added, "Dada (Pawar) has experience of taking the oath both in the morning and evening."

After submitting the formation letter, Devendra Fadnavis thanked both Shinde and Pawar for supporting him and said that without them, it would not have been possible to get the government formed. He further added that the Mahayuti alliance government in the coming five years would take Maharashtra to new heights.

Fadnavis, in a recent press conference, has confirmed that discussions on who would take the oath would be held in a meeting tomorrow. He had also met with Shinde and urged him to be part of the government. Fadnavis said that all Shiv Sena legislators were in favor of Shinde's involvement.

The oath-taking ceremony would take place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. He stated that he was thankful to Shinde for nominating him for the post of Chief Minister and that he along with Ajit Pawar himself has submitted supporting letters for forming a government.

Ajit Pawar further added that the new government would concentrate on development in Maharashtra. He said that the three leaders had been working well together for the last two and a half years, and they would continue to do so in the future to develop the state.
