New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti 2025, spiritual leader and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev paid heartfelt tribute to Lord Mahavir, describing him as the “embodiment of striving and transcendence.”

In a post shared on social platform X, Sadhguru wrote,“Mahavir – a Prince who realized early that it is not conquest but compassion that makes Life an inclusive process. An embodiment of striving and transcendence who continues to be greatly revered more than two millennia after his time.”

PM Modi, Amit Shah Also Share Mahavir Jayanti Wishes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings, honoring Lord Mahavir’s ideals of truth, compassion, and non-violence.“We all bow to Bhagwan Mahavir, who always emphasised on non-violence, truth and compassion. His teachings give strength to millions around the world,” PM Modi wrote on X.

He also highlighted the Union Government’s recognition of Prakrit—a language associated with Jain scriptures—as a Classical Language last year, a move widely appreciated by the Jain community.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his message, stating,“The teachings of Lord Mahavir Ji—truth, non-violence, compassion, and social harmony—will guide humanity forever. I pray for the welfare of all.”

Lord Mahavir’s Life and Legacy

Lord Mahavir, born in 615 BC in a royal Jain family and originally named Vardhamana, is revered as the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. His teachings, especially the principle of “Ahimsa Parmo Dharma” (Non-violence is the highest virtue), continue to shape ethical values globally.

Mahavir Jayanti 2025 is being celebrated on April 10, as per the Jain calendar. The day commemorates his birth and spreads awareness about Jainism’s significance, especially in India.
