A tragic accident took place in North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Saturday, January 4, 2025, when an Indian Army truck skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near SK Payan. Two soldiers lost their lives and three other soldiers suffered grievous injuries. Injured people have been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Rescue operations are on in process with rescue teams from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army working at the site.

No Terror Angle Suspected

Authorities have clarified that no terror angle is suspected in the accident. The rescue operation is still underway, and an investigation is being conducted to ascertain the correct details of the incident.

December 24, 2024: An accident similar to this incident was reported in Poonch's Balnoi sector, where an Army vehicle falls 300 feet into a gorge, killing five soldiers due to operational duties.

December 31, 2024: Yet another vehicle of the Army met with an accident near LoC in Mendhar, Poonch. A truck plunged into a gorge there from 100 feet above and five jawans died instantly. Five other jawans sustained severe injuries

The same reasons continue to hamper efforts as it happens yet again and rescue operations along with the investigations still prevent any such mishap to recur.
