Man Arrested for Blackmailing and Raping Woman for 8 Months in Haryana

A 55-year-old man has been arrested in a disturbing incident of Nuh, Haryana, where a 30-year-old woman has been raped by him for over eight months. The man was identified as Mukund alias Pappi who secretly filmed the woman while she was taking a shower and blackmailed her afterwards by threatening to release the video.

The Crime and Blackmail

According to the woman’s complaint, the accused, who was a friend of her husband, had entered her house when her husband was not around. Taking advantage of the situation, he secretly recorded an explicit video of her while she was in the bathroom. Mukund then used the video to threaten the woman with public exposure and sexually assaulted her multiple times.

The woman also claims that Mukund forced her to have physical relations with his friend, further abetting her for several months. She said she could not bear the torture further and finally decided to go to her husband, who helped her file a police complaint.

Investigation and Arrest

The police filled a First Information Report (FIR) invoking relevant sections, and Mukund was arrested by the police on Tuesday. His companion, the other accused, still remains absconding. Producing Mukund in court on Wednesday, the police took him in one-day police remand on Wednesday for his further investigation related to the recovering of his mobile from him. At the same time, the police continue raids to collect the second alleged accused involved with the crime case.

The case has sent shockwaves into the local community, exposing the increasing problem of sexual abuse and blackmail. The authorities have vowed to push harder in efforts to arrest the second suspect and ensure justice for the victim.
