Manipur Violence News: Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Amit Shah and PM Modi Over Manipur Violence
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for handling the ongoing crisis of renewed violence in Manipur. Speaking at a press conference in Ranchi, Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of ignoring the escalating situation in the state and alleged that vested interests were at play.

Everyone knows what's going on in Manipur. The Prime Minister hasn't even visited the state. I have been there and we have repeatedly urged the government to stop the violence, but it's continuing. Someone has an interest in it, I think, said Gandhi. Emphasising that peace should be returned first, he said, The Home Minister must do his work but for some reason, he is not doing it.
Gandhi claimed the BJP was spreading hate, citing it as the cause of all unrest. Only Congress can douse the fire because we believe in love and brotherhood, he added.

In this regard, Home Minister Amit Shah is reportedly conducting a high-level meeting with senior officers in New Delhi and assessing the security situation in Manipur. Shah urged officials to do everything possible so that peace and order are restored as soon as possible. According to the plans of the government, the Centre will send an additional 50 companies of Central Armed Police Forces, including 35 units from the CRPF and 15 from the BSF.
Parliament Demands PM to Visit His majesty's Opposition in the form of Congress leaders requires the Prime Minister Modi to visit this violence-ravaged state. "Since May 3, 2023, Manipur has been burning yet the Prime Minister has had no time to visit. He must meet political leaders, civil society groups and those in relief camps, Ramesh said.

Since May 2023, ethnic clashes between Meiteis from the Imphal Valley and Kuki-Zo groups in the hills have left over 220 people dead and rendered thousands homeless. However, the current violence precisely calls for swift and decisive action to usher back peace and rebuild the lives of several affected communities.
