Who Is Manoharlal Dhakad? BJP-Backed Panchayat Leader's Husband Whose Obscene Video With Girlfriend On Expressway Went Viral

Madhya Pradesh politician Manoharlal Dhakad sparked a huge controversy after a video showing him engaged in an obscene act with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway went viral. Dhakad has now landed in trouble as the viral video sparked a storm on social media, prompting swift action by the police.

The video was allegedly filmed on May 13 and showed a nude woman and a man stepping out of a car on the eight-lane expressway and getting engaged in an obscene act. The duo can be seen engaging in s*xual activity in full public view in the middle of the expressway.

The clip was captured by surveillance cameras on the high-security expressway and has been making rounds on social media.

Who Is Manoharlal Dhakad?

The authorities have confirmed that the car spotted in the video is registered in the name of Manoharlal Dhakad, a resident of Bani village.

Adding fuel to the controversy, political links emerged as soon as the video went viral on social media. Dhakad's wife Sohan Bai is a district panchayat representative from Ward No. 8 in Mandsaur and is linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While Dhakad is also a politician, BJP leaders have denied any formal link to him.
 
"Dhakad is from the village Bani, but he is not a primary member of the BJP. His wife Sohan Bai is a member of the district panchayat. It is not known if Manoharlal has become a member of the party through online," Mandsaur BJP district president Rajesh Dixit clarified to PTI.

Dhakad has faced professional consequences following the controversy. He recently served as the National Secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha, a community-based organisation headquartered in Ujjain. He was removed from his position after the row.

The group’s National President Arjun Dhakad confirmed the news about his removal. He said that the decision was taken to uphold the dignity of the institution.

FIR Registered Against Dhakad

Meanwhile, an FIR under sections 296, 285, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) has been filed against Dhakad and the woman. The whereabouts of Dhakad are unknown since the video surfaced and a manhunt has been launched by the authorities to trace him.

The BJP has distanced itself from the controversy and has maintained that Dhakad is not officially linked to the party.

Reacting strongly to the footage, Ratlam Range DIG Manoj Singh stated: "Such behaviour on a public road violates both legal and social norms. Public spaces are meant for safe and respectful use by all citizens."
