Medical supplies from other countries allocated to states: Centre

Centre Wednesday said that the medical supplies from other countries to help India have been allocated to the states and the UTs.

India has been receiving the essential equipment to fight coronavirus disease from various countries across the world.

Many nations including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Russia, the UAE, the United States, Taiwan, Kuwait, France, Thailand, Germany, among others have come forward to help India.

India has received oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilators, vials of anti-malarial drug Remdesivir among other critical equipment.

As per the Centre, the consignments received till Tuesday have already been allocated to the states and the UTs.

The Principal Scientific Advisor to Centre K Vijay Raghavan said on Wednesday that a third wave of COVID-19 is inevitable and we should be prepared for it.

Though vaccines are effective against current variants. Moreover, new variants will arise all over the world and in India too.

Scientists in India and across the world are on the variants of COVID-19. The supplies are also crucial to save lives here in India.

The Union ministry of health and family welfare has allocated these medical supplies and the equipment.
