Model apologises for bareheaded photoshoot at Kartarpur Sahib

A model held a photo shoot at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. The recent photos have set social media on fire. This comes after people on social media pointed out that the bareheaded pictures hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.

The model, Sauleha, however, deleted the photos later. She even posted an apology on her Instagram page.

A clothing brand called Mannat Clothing had posted the pictures of Sauleha, did the shoot at Kartarpur Sahib, on their Instagram page.

SAD spokesperson Manjinder Singh Sirsa and other users shared the photos pointing that the model was bareheaded.

Covering the head in a gurdwara is mandatory and is also considered as a way of showing respect for the revered place.

In her apology, model Sauleha said that she did not intend to hurt anyone and the pictures were supposed to be a memory of her visit to Kartarpur Sahib.

Both the brand and model have clarified that the pictures were not part of a photo shoot.

After a tweet, Pakistan police began an investigation into the incident. The police said that they are investigating all the aspects regarding the photoshoot and will take strict legal action against those responsible.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry also stated that the designer and model must apologise to the Sikh community.
