Mosquito Coil Sparks Deadly Blaze in Ghaziabad, Claims Lives of Two Brothers
A tragic fire in Ghaziabad's Loni area took away the lives of two brothers, Arun (21) and Vansh (17), whose house caught fire due to a mosquito coil. The incident occurred late at night in the Prashant Vihar Colony when the family lit a mosquito coil due to a power outage.
Sequence of Events
The fire broke out in a room where the two brothers were sleeping. The room was already engulfed when their parents noticed smoke and flames. While one of the brothers died on the spot due to suffocation and burns, the other passed away in the hospital due to sustained injuries. The parents were asleep in another room of the house and tried to reach out to their sons but were not able to save them.
Community and Emergency Response
Local residents were able to contain the fire within 30 minutes before the fire brigade arrived. Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal confirmed that a fire tender was sent immediately after the alarm at 3:18 AM, but the blaze was already contained by then.
Investigation and Aftermath
Police and fire officials are reportedly investigating the cause of the fire. The family, with the father working as a laborer, is devastated by the loss. This tragic incident underscores the dangers of fire hazards in homes, especially during power outages when alternative measures are used.
