Indore – In a significant ruling, the Indore High Court has overturned a long-standing restriction imposed by the central government that prevented former government employees from joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The court declared that the RSS is not a communal organization and that individuals should not be barred from joining it. This decision comes after a protracted legal battle against the government’s prohibition.

Following this order, retired government employees are now permitted to join the RSS without any legal hindrance. The court also criticized the government for taking five decades to correct this mistake and directed that the amendment be posted on the official government website.

Additionally, the court has mandated that the government promote this change through the Public Relations Department nationwide to ensure widespread awareness. This landmark decision is expected to have a significant impact on the rights of retired government employees and their freedom to associate with organizations of their choice.
