Mumbai-Nagpur Highway Becomes Hazardous Due to Potholes and Monsoon Rains

The national highway connecting Mumbai to Nagpur has become severely potholed, posing significant risks to travelers. The recent monsoon rains have exacerbated the situation, causing numerous accidents along the route.
Citizens of Jalgaon, along with various talukas in the district, have reported an alarming number of potholes on this crucial highway. Particularly affected are key intersections within Jalgaon city, such as Akashvani Chowk and Ichadevi Chowk, where heavy traffic from city residents is a daily occurrence. The presence of large potholes at these points has caused significant inconvenience and danger to commuters.
Many locals have voiced their frustrations, highlighting the discrepancy between the taxes they pay and the subpar condition of the infrastructure. "Despite paying hefty taxes, we are not provided with basic road safety and maintenance. What is the point?" said one angry resident.
Our correspondent, Walmik Joshi, conducted an on-ground review of the situation. He found that travelers are forced to navigate these treacherous conditions daily, risking their lives in the process.
