Four of the passengers of the ill-fated Yeti Airlines plane which crashed in Nepal’s Pokhara went live on Facebook minutes before the tragedy. The four passengers from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh were sharing their experience on Facebook live.
“Mauj Kar Di” (it’s a lot of fun), one of them can be heard saying in the 1.30-minute footage. Sonu Jaiswal, 29, can also be seen in the clip.
However, the aircraft makes a fast left turn before crashing and bursting into flames after 58 seconds. Moments before the crash, one person can also be heard saying “Mara Mara Mara” (in a fun way) and then come the sound of screams, bursts and the crash. The last 30 seconds show the glimpses of flames all around.
Sonu’s brother Rajat Jaiswal has confirmed that Sonu was live on Facebook from the moment he boarded. The video was private and can only be seen by Sonu’s friends.
The four passengers from Ghazipur’s Baresar were among five Indians killed in the crash, along with 68 other passengers. On January 13, Sonu Jaiswal (29), Anil Rajbhar (28), Vishal Sharma (23), and Abhishek Singh Kushwaha (23) arrived in Kathmandu and were travelling to Pokhara for paragliding after performing puja at the Pashupatinath temple.
As per reports and the statement from the Nepal Army spokesperson, all 72 aboard the Yeti Airlines flight were dead.
“We haven’t rescued anyone alive from the crash site,” Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the spokesperson of Nepal Army was reported saying by ANI.
