New Gate Opens at Majestic Station for Easier Transition Between Green and Purple Lines

Bengaluru:* Commuters traveling on Namma Metro’s Green Line and needing to switch to the Purple Line at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) now have a reason to cheer. A new entry gate has been inaugurated to facilitate a smoother transition between these two busy routes.

Relief for Commuters

The number of daily passengers on Namma Metro has been steadily increasing, with predictions suggesting it may soon cross the 1 million mark. The Purple Line, in particular, has seen a significant rise in ridership, with many passengers requiring a change from the Green Line to the Purple Line at Majestic. Previously, the limited access points for switching between these lines led to congestion, especially during peak hours from 8 AM to 10 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM. This overcrowding often caused delays and discomfort for commuters.

The opening of the new entry gate is expected to alleviate these issues, making the transition between lines much more efficient and less stressful, particularly during rush hours.

Job Opportunities with Namma Metro

In other news, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has invited applications from eligible and experienced candidates for five General Manager positions. The last date to apply online is September 25, with the final date for submitting the printed application and supporting documents by post being September 30. The positions available are in the signaling, P-way, traction, and stores departments. These appointments will be on a contract basis for three years, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Interested candidates are advised to visit the official website for more details.
