NIA Offers 10 Lakh Reward for Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Brother Anmol Bishnoi

The National Investigation Agency has authorized a reward of ₹10 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, who is the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol has been charged in two cases filed in 2022, while NIA has also placed him on its Most Wanted list with a reward for the same.

Crime Involvement

Anmol Bishnoi had been in the news for his links with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui. He was also said to have accepted responsibility for the shooting incident at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The Mumbai Crime Branch said three suspected shooters were in touch with Anmol Bishnoi before the murder of Moose Wala through Snapchat. Anmol was constantly in touch with the accused through places in the United States and Canada, and four mobile phones have also been recovered from the accused during the investigations.

Co-ordination with Canadian Gangster Goldy Brar

Anmol Bishnoi, also known by the sobriquet Bhanu, gained further notoriety as it became apparent that Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother from Tihar Jail, had allegedly masterminded Moosewala's killing. It has been alleged that Anmol and his nephew Sachin were in league with Canadian gangster Goldy Brar in planning and executing the killing. The two discussed logistics: reconnaissance about Moosewala's whereabouts and weapons to be arranged for the shooters.

Flight from India on Fake Passports

Lawrence allegedly helped Anmol and Sachin secure fake passports in what appears to be a desperate attempt to flee before the killing would happen. Anmol had fled India right after Moosewala's killing by leaving from Dubai to Kenya within days of May 29, 2022, then onwards to the United States. Sachin Thapan had fled to Nepal, but he was held under police custody after his arrest in Azerbaijan; Anmol is still absconding.

Crime Cases Reported

Anmol Bishnoi has 18 cases registered against his name. He was last seen in jail in Jodhpur Jail, Rajasthan. He has managed to obtain a bail on October 7, 2021. Since then, he is underground.

Planning Baba Siddiqui's Murder

The shooters allegedly had some practice shooting before attempting the assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, police said. The assailants had allegedly practiced their shooting in a forested area near Karjat-Khopoli Road on at least five occasions, police said. The three suspects believed to have been in communication with Anmol shortly before the planned attack on Siddiqui.

The NIA continues to search and investigate Anmol Bishnoi with International Law Enforcement in co-operation. This person is amongst the high-ticking targets, where accusations have been made of crimes in multiple high-profile cases across India and abroad.
