NIRF Ranking 2024: IIT Madras Tops Overall Ranking, IISc Bangalore Best University

The Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings, with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announcing the results at Bharat Mandapam. For the sixth consecutive year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has secured the top spot in the overall category. This year marks the ninth edition of the NIRF rankings, which evaluate higher education institutions across 13 different categories, including universities, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medicine, and architecture.

Top Universities in NIRF 2024

According to the NIRF 2024 rankings, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has been named the best university in India, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in second place and Jamia Millia Islamia in third. Manipal University and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) round out the top five.

Specialized Rankings

In the medical field, AIIMS Delhi has been ranked as the top institution. For architecture, IIT Roorkee holds the top position. Jamia Hamdard University has been recognized as the best in the pharmacy category, while IIM Ahmedabad continues to lead as the top management institute in the country.

Top Colleges

Delhi University's Hindu College has been named the top college in the country in the NIRF 2024 rankings. This year, a total of 10,885 institutions participated in the NIRF evaluation process.
