On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the maximum temperature in Shimla touched an unprecedented 23°C, breaking all previous records for the month. Similarly, Solan recorded an even higher temperature of 29°C, the highest since January 2007, when it reached 27.5°C on Republic Day.

Unusual January Weather Across Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is witnessing an unusual rise in temperatures across several locations. Here's a snapshot of recent maximum and minimum temperatures in key areas:

Shimla had recorded 21.4°C on January 30, 2006, as its previous record in January. According to the Meteorological Department, that has been beaten.
