One Nation, One Election Bills: The One Nation, One Election initiative would combine the Lok Sabha with the elections of state assembly as support has come from as many as 32 parties-including fence-sitters YSRCP. BJP, in defense of this one measure that will save resources and the electoral process which also enables efficient governance at each stage.

"I said this morning, after speaking with our president and, the Congress will strongly and comprehensively" oppose the bills, Congressman Jairam Ramesh added.
The move is "unconstitutional" and against the basic structure of democracy.
BJP's "real motive" is to push for a new Constitution and "throttle democracy" in the country.
Shiv Sena (UBT)
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi shared Congress's views, saying:
The bill is an attack on the Constitution.
It aims to centralize power and tamper with the electoral process.
She questioned its cost-effectiveness and reiterated that the party would oppose the bill.
Samajwadi Party
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav condemned the bill and said it was a conspiracy to "destroy the Constitution." He tweeted that despite its differences with Congress on some other issues, the SP will strongly oppose the bill.
