Under the Direction of SRP Abhishek Verma, Operation Muskaan Reunites Family with Child Missing for 20 Years
In a remarkable and emotional turn of events, the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Uttar Pradesh successfully reunited a young man, Bablu Sharma, with his family after an agonizing separation of 22 years. The reunion took place in Agra, where Bablu, who was lost at the age of four, had been living in a juvenile home in Delhi.
The Journey of Separation
Bablu's ordeal began in June 2002 when he left his home in Dhanaura, a village in Uttar Pradesh. Over the years, his disappearance devastated his family—his mother, Angoori Devi, and father, Sukhdev Sharma—who searched tirelessly for him for six years before losing hope.

A Turning Point
The breakthrough in Bablu’s story occurred during counseling sessions at Prayas Children’s Home in March 2024. During these sessions, Bablu expressed his longing to find his family and provided officials with their names and the name of his village. This information prompted the GRP’s Muskaan team to initiate a detailed search.
Methodical Search Efforts
Inspector Ripudaman Singh, part of the Muskaan team, employed a systematic approach to locate Bablu’s family. Using resources like the C Plan app and Google Maps, they identified multiple villages named Dhanaura in the nearby districts of Bijnor, Baghpat, and Bulandshahr. Despite exhaustive inquiries, no leads surfaced regarding a missing child. However, Bablu’s mention of traveling to Delhi by train helped refine their search.
Breakthrough in the Investigation
The investigation team eventually focused on a Dhanaura located near Chola Railway Station. They contacted the village and shared Bablu’s photograph, leading to a crucial breakthrough. Within days, they received a call from a family who believed the man in the photograph might be their long-lost son.
Emotional Reunion
When Bablu’s father, Sukhdev Sharma, recognized him from the photograph, emotions ran high. After two decades of relentless searching without any solid leads, the prospect of reuniting with his son brought him overwhelming joy. The police facilitated the reunion, and tears of happiness flowed as Bablu embraced his parents, marking a heartwarming moment celebrated by the entire community.
Community Support
News of this touching reunion quickly spread, drawing many locals to Bablu’s home to celebrate the miraculous turn of events. The story not only highlighted the perseverance of a family but also underscored the crucial role organizations like Prayas Children’s Home and the GRP play in reuniting lost children with their families.
Bablu’s story serves as a poignant reminder of the deep bonds of family and the lengths to which individuals will go to find one another. This emotional reunion after 22 years inspires many and highlights the importance of community efforts in aiding those in need.
