Owaisi Questions Legal Privileges for AAP Leaders
During his speech, Owaisi expressed confusion over how Delhi’s CM was arrested in the liquor scam, charged under IPC and PMLA, yet continues to receive legal relief. He further pointed out that AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are also facing serious corruption charges.
Owaisi specifically questioned why AAP’s Okhla MLA, Amanatullah Khan, was jailed, while his AIMIM candidate Shifa-ur-Rahman struggles to receive justice.
Shifa-ur-Rahman Granted Custody Parole for Election Campaigning
Shifa-ur-Rahman, AIMIM's candidate from Okhla, has been granted custody parole until February 3 to campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He is currently in Tihar Jail, facing charges under UAPA in connection with the Delhi riots case.
Shifa-ur-Rahman is contesting against AAP’s Amanatullah Khan.
He will be allowed to stay at home and campaign until February 3.
Delhi elections are scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
