Pahalgam Terror Attack: Omar Abdullah Directs Exit Route for Stranded Tourists

Pahalgam Terror Attack: Following the horrific Pahalgam terror attack, where at least 26 individuals were killed, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ordered government officials to regulate the safe evacuation of tourist cars from Srinagar to Jammu.
Citing social media, Abdullah vented his frustration over the hasty exodus of tourists from the valley
"It's saddening to witness the exodus of our guests. but we completely comprehend why individuals would need to leave," he authored.
To facilitate a safe and smooth passage, the CM declared that NH-44, the major Srinagar-Jammu highway, has been opened for one-way traffic. Abdullah emphasized movement will be regulated and systematized, as the road is unstable in certain sections.

"We are trying our best to clear stuck vehicles. Free movement completely is not feasible now. We appeal to all to please cooperate," he said.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation are also making arrangements to charter additional flights for tourists who want to depart from the area.
Safety is being taken as a top priority while meeting the immediate necessity of evacuating tourists, and attempts are being made to restore order both on highways and airports.
