Pakistan Says It Shot Down Indian Planes Using Chinese Jets
Things are getting more serious between India and Pakistan.
On Wednesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, said that Pakistan’s air force used Chinese fighter jets to shoot down five Indian planes.
He said this happened after India attacked some places inside Pakistan, which India said were used by terror groups.
“Our jet fighters were J-10Cs that shot down the three French Rafales and other jets,” Dar said, adding that a Chinese diplomatic team was at the Foreign Office by early morning to receive updates.
What Planes Were Shot Down?
Pakistan says they shot down:
-
3 Rafale jets (These are fighter planes made in France)
-
1 MiG-29 (A Russian jet)
-
1 Su-30 (Also a fighter jet used by India)
Pakistan says they used Chinese-made jets called J-10C to do this.
What Did India Say?
So far, India hasn’t said anything about this. They haven’t confirmed or denied if their planes were shot down.
But someone from France said they are checking if one of their Rafale jets really was hit, since it’s their plane.
What Did China Say?
China is the country that makes and sells the J-10C jets to Pakistan.
When reporters asked China about this, their government said they don’t know much about it yet.
But China did say it wants both India and Pakistan to stop fighting and solve the problem peacefully.
What is the J-10C Jet?
The J-10C is a modern fighter jet made in China. It has smart weapons and radar systems and is used in air battles.
Pakistan has many of these jets. In fact, most of Pakistan’s weapons come from China.
What Happens Next?
Right now, it’s not clear who is telling the full truth. But this news has made people more worried about the fight between the two countries.
Other countries are watching closely and want India and Pakistan to calm down and talk things out.
